There have been a change in the Tech scene lately. Most Tech coys are beginning to decline/disable supports for some of the OS we know are already becoming a past tense. First it was Facebook removing support for Messenger on Windows and then Opera, for windows and now this, Paypal telling the Windows OS,Blackberry OS and Amazon OS a very warmth goodbye. :(
The Paypal team as reported have decided to narrow their time and efforts in building for just the Android and iOS which happens to be the top guys in the business as it stands.
Though i do not see this decision a being cool, i still believe they should have a reason for that which we are yet to hear (Official Statement ) from them.
As reported by Joanna Lambert ( Paypal’s VP of consumer product);
“It was a difficult decision to no longer support the PayPal app on these mobile platforms,” said Joanna Lambert, PayPal’s VP of consumer product, in an announcement on the company’s blog. “But we believe it’s the right thing to ensure we are investing our resources in creating the very best experiences for our customers.”
Despite the fact that this changes will be affecting a lot of users, Paypal still made it clear that users would still be able to perform their transaction using the website. And also, BlackBerry users can still send peer-to-peer payments with PayPal through BBM. And finally on the Windows side, Outlook.com users can enable the PayPal add-in to send payments right from the email app.
As quoted by Lambert:
“We remain committed to partnering with mobile device providers, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers,”
