How to Send SMS Messages using Facebook Messenger

I once discussed with a friend, pointing to him the list of things the Facebook guys are doing which makes them to be more than a social networking site. First it was our very own facebook, whose aim was is to connect the world. Then they started getting into sections we never expected to see them occupy. We must have heard of the Oculus Rift all from the guys at Facebook and now we have this, A feature that let’s us send SMS messages using the facebook messenger app.
With this new feature, you would be able to send SMS messages using the facebook messenger app.
If you can remember, this feature had its way through in 2012 though never saw the light for and then went on hold a year after.
This is obviously one feature that might bring an end to our Local SMS’ng since most people tend/like to send messages using internet connection. (Guess there is one special thingy about it?) :\ )
As reported by David Marcus, who happens to be the VP of Messaging products at Facebook, “It’s not just a barebone texting implementation. You can also send voice clips, stickers or share your location in addition to the usual features like photos and videos.
“A lot of Android texting apps didn’t keep up with the evolution of messaging, so we felt like we truly had to make Messenger the best SMS client for Android.”
Starting from June 15th, users can set SMS (Default SMS App) which makes it possible to connect the SMS features on your phone to the facebook Messenger App. This way, you should be seeing all SMS conversation in a purple threaded form.
With all this and more, we obviously should be convinced Facebook isn’t in for jokes when they coined the slogan, Connecting the world.
