Generative AI chatbots are everywhere, but most of them forget who you are the second you close the tab. Everthine wants to change that with the A1, a dedicated 3D desktop companion making its European debut at IFA 2026 in Berlin. Built around the simple human desire to feel remembered, the A1 is designed to build a persistent, evolving relationship with its user.
At IFA 2026 in Berlin from September 4–8, European audiences are given an opportunity to interact with Everthine A1 and experience its hardware firsthand.
Hardware That Occupies Space
Unlike an app tucked away on your phone, the Everthine A1 is designed for physical presence. The AI character “lives” on an 8.01-inch curved OLED display, complete with a face, voice, gestures, and touch responses. Users can rotate the character to different viewing angles, and the avatar reacts in real time during conversations.
Under the hood, the A1 is equipped to see and hear its environment:
- Audio: A six-microphone array tracks the direction of your voice, while a 10W speaker handles the companion’s replies.
- Vision: Front and rear cameras allow the device to take in its surroundings.
- Connectivity: Standard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth round out the core specs.
The Killer Feature: Persistent Memory
The A1’s central premise is continuity. Everthine claims the companion carries facts, context, and conversations across multiple sessions. It can recognize familiar faces and even your pets, gradually developing a consistent view of the person it interacts with. Because the personality adapts as your shared history accumulates, a casual greeting today might reference an inside joke or a topic you discussed weeks ago.
Privacy and Safety Guardrails
Inviting a camera- and microphone-equipped AI into your personal space naturally raises massive privacy questions. Everthine is addressing the trust factor head-on with strict hardware and software controls:
- Physical Kill Switches: The device includes a physical camera shutter and a hardware switch to kill the microphones.
- Data Security: All conversations feature end-to-end encryption and are explicitly walled off from being used for AI model training.
- Granular Deletion: Users maintain total control over their data, with the ability to permanently delete specific memories or wipe entire characters.
Everthine is also enforcing strict behavioral guardrails. The A1 is strictly for users 18 and older, and sexual interactions are hard-coded out of its capabilities. The device features a persistent label reminding users they are speaking to an AI, and if the system detects language indicating an immediate crisis, it is programmed to automatically surface emergency service contact information.
The Ecosystem and Release Window
The desktop hardware won’t exist in a vacuum. Everthine is building a companion app supporting text, voice, and video, allowing users to sync their specific AI character across multiple devices. The software is slated to launch before the hardware, with both tracks targeted for release later in 2026. Pricing and exact launch dates are still under wraps.
For those on the ground at IFA Berlin (September 4–8), the A1 is available for hands-on testing at the Reseller Park, H27o_20. The company is also previewing the device at ShowStoppers @ IFA on September 3 (Table 411, Hall 5.3). The live demos will be the first real test of Everthine’s ambitious pitch: whether memory, expression, and dedicated hardware can finally make a digital avatar feel like steady company.
